Meet Surcana

We are a small company that is focused on understanding our clients specific challenges. Surcana is not a “ boilerplate design” style company and realize a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t work.  Surcana strives to create unique solutions based on our individual clients needs.

    Jared Woodard

    FOUNDER

    Jared started in the foodservice business at a young age.  His father ran operations for a small restaurant when he was in high school and at 15 he went to work in the back washing dishes and doing line prep.  Jared then went on to work for an equipment dealer managing their warehouse as well as the deliveries.   After getting married and starting a family, Jared moved to Houston and into sales with a manufacturers rep group in 1999.  Jared spent 20 years as a factory broker representing some of the biggest brands in the industry before deciding it was time for another change.   Jared wanted to focus more on the consultant side of the business while using his many years of experience creating equipment based solutions.  He partnered up with long time design layout expert Keith Krause and successful multi-business owner David Chan to form Surcana Food Service Design.

    Keith Krause

    BIM SPECIALIST

    Keith started his career in construction learning various disciplines.   This knowledge, along with his time working with stainless fabricators, allowed him to look at design from a different view.   Keith has completed hundreds of commercial kitchens during his almost 30 years in design.  Keith understands the importance of listening to the client.

  • Robin Howard

    AUTOCAD SPECIALIST

    Robin has been a part of Surcana for over a year now, bringing creativity and precision to every project. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and began her career in the K–12 interiors before taking time to travel across the Midwest where her passion for design was further enriched.

    Outside of work, Robin enjoys traveling, meeting new people, and creating art. Her love for exploration and creative expression consistently informs and elevates her design work, fueling her commitment to spaces that are both functional and inspiring.

  • Alexia Orozco

    AUTOCAD SPECIALIST

    Alexia is a recent graduate from the University of Houston, earning a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Construction Management. As an aspiring architect, she currently works as a drafter, blending creative insight with technical precision to support a wide range of projects.

    Highly tech-savvy and design-driven, Alexia is proficient in tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite. She is passionate about leveraging digital technologies to explore innovative design solutions that are both imaginative and buildable.
